October 5
10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the ‘Āina Haina Library
It's time for the HFW to catch a train!
We will be writing and sharing a short opening scene for a new short story set on a train. For a title, select one of the following:
- “Strangers on a Train”
- “The Lady Vanishes”
- “Murder on the Orient Express”
If you choose to write the scene before the critique meeting, you will have time to rewrite it, or write a second scene. According to Salman Rushdie, "It's often been said, and I think it's true, all writing is rewriting. It's very rare that when you put something down for the first time that you don't need to look at it again. What's more characteristic is that it needs work, needs work, and rework."
👉 Reminder! Our third-Saturday critique group will meet October 19th, 10 a.m. to noon in the parish hall at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Kaimuki.
